The "APOLLON" Municipal Theatre located on Georgiou Α΄ square is considered to be the City's most impressive architectural jewel and is one of the first opera houses in Europe. It was built in 1872 based on the designs by German architect Ernest Ziller.
It boast three rows of balconies, with red velvet tapestries, a gallery, a loft and an orchestra.
The small theatre, set up in the Castle area seats 250 people and has a panoramic view of the Castle's fortress and its stage has played host to a number of music, theatre and dance performances
A small, aesthetically pleasing open theatre, which seats about 500 people and is literally built right next to the sea.
The area around, the theatre where during the summer a number of cultural activities take place, there is also a cafeteria, a playground and a pedestrian road ideal for strolls than runs along the seaside.
